  1. BUY A BUNCH OF QUALITY FONTS AT CHEAP PRICES!  
  2. If you use fonts and enjoy variety on your computer display or your printer  
  3. output then read this offer! It's your chance to get another 14 high-quality  
  4. fonts for next to nothing (Less than a buck a font).

  6. WHAT THESE FONTS WILL WORK WITH...  
  7. If you have Windows 3 and Adobe Type Manager or Windows 3.1 (with or without  
  8. ATM), you can use these fonts in virtually any of your Windows applications  
  9. that permit font selection. The fonts will display on-screen and can be  
  10. downloaded to your printer. Each postscript font set includes the required  
  11. xxx.PFB file and xxx.PFM file. Each TrueType font set includes the xxx.TTF  
  12. file. Use with Aldus PageMaker, Microsoft Excel, VisualBasic, presentation  
  13. software, or whatever.  
  14.   
  15. If you use Corel Draw!, both postscript and TrueType versions include xxx.WFN 
  16.  
  17. file to add each font to your copy of the premier PC design program. Of  
  18. course, Corel extends your flexibility/capability with each font by giving  
  19. you a nearly infinite variety of bolding, italicising, outlining, stretching, 
  20.  
  21. and mutilating options.  
  22.   
  23. The font set also includes an xxx.AFM file in case you need it. Note that the 
  24.  
  25. files include no special kerning information. Manual kerning, if necessary,  
  26. can be done when the fonts are used in software such as PageMaker. In Corel  
  27. Draw!, there's very little need for kerning pairs information since you're  
  28. often making those kinds of decisions as you design.  
  29.   
  30. SUPPORT...  
  31. Adding new fonts generally presents no bug or compatibility problems that  
  32. haven't already been solved with the first font installed. At less than $1  
  33. a font, you probably don't expect an 800 number or 24-hour hotline. You can  
  34. expect me to respond to your messages posted on CompuServe (72327,1702) or  
  35. America OnLine (ThomasH53). Or if you send a stamped self-addressed envelope, 
  36.  
  37. I'll do my best to solve your problem.

  39. WHERE THESE FONTS CAME FROM...  
  40. These fonts were all created in Corel Draw!, probably my favorite piece of  
  41. software. I had always wanted an Egyptian Bold Condensed font for the  
  42. advertising work I do in PageMaker and Corel. I finally sat down one weekend  
  43. and created the font in Corel, and spent a lot of time working the bugs out  
  44. of the font-generating system. Then I made BeesWax after seeing a similar  
  45. font in a typesetting magazine. The first ad agency I worked for was called  
  46. Arocom and used the font called "Stop" in their logotype. I decided to create 
  47.  
  48. a similar font for the computer (hence the name "Comaro"). Then it just kind  
  49. of snowballed into another twelve (and counting) additional fonts.  
  50.   
  51. WHY SO CHEAP?  
  52. I wanted, or needed, these fonts myself. But others may as well benefit too.  
  53. I've always been on the buying end of software before, so I know how it  
  54. feels. Now I'm selling .. so rather than ask $10 or even $5 for a font that's 
  55.  
  56. already created, I'm asking less than a dollar! I'm not gonna get rich, but  
  57. maybe I'll get compensated for the weeks put in creating the fonts. It's  
  58. probably cheaper than the cost of downloading from CompuServe!  
  59.   
  60. FONT DESCRIPTIONS...  
  61. Descriptions indicate whether fonts contain upper case (UC), lower case (LC)  
  62. or both (UC & LC). All fonts include numerals and basic punctuation. Some  
  63. include punctuation beyond the basic set. All include currency characters for 
  64.  
  65. dollars and British Pounds. Most include the cents character also.  
  66.   
  67.   BEESWAX (UC)  
  68. A fat, fun face similar to a font called "Bees Knees" which appeared in  
  69. "u&lc" magazine.  
  70.   
  71.   BROADBAY (UC)  
  72. Similar to a font called "Binner." On first look this font appears much like  
  73. Broadway (though the similar name is just coincidence). It's more elegant  
  74. than its well-known cousin, but also stronger; it could be used where  
  75. Broadway might not be hefty enough.  
  76.   
  77.   BULGE (UC & LC)  
  78. Serif or non-serif? The characters of this font appear created with painter's 
  79.  
  80. horse-hair brush strokes, with one or two strokes per letter. Similar to a  
  81. press-type font called "Croissant." Amazingly, considering the design of the  
  82. font, it works for text set as small as 11-point.  
  83.   
  84.   CAIRO (UC & LC)  
  85. Bold serif condensed font, similar to "Egyptian Bold Condensed." Excellent  
  86. for headlines; text is legible, but gets too "solid" below about 18-point.  
  87.   
  88.   COLISEUM (UC & LC)  
  89. A bold, non-serif font similar to a press-type font called "Koloss." Works  
  90. best as a display face at 24-point or better, but could be used as small as  
  91. 15-point.  
  92.   
  93.   COMARO (UC)  
  94. A bold, stark font with abbreviated characteristics. Similar to a font called 
  95.  
  96. "Stop," it can be used for headlines, but would be more appropriate for logo  
  97. and other design purposes. Looks very StarTrek-y if you try to use it for  
  98. text.  
  99.   
  100.   DEBORAH (UC & LC)  
  101. A bold, non-serif font similar to "Compacta Black." Use for headlines or logo 
  102.  
  103. design; text setting might be too strong.  
  104.   
  105.   GAEL (UC)  
  106. Calligraphic font similar to "American Uncial." The all-upper case font looks 
  107.  
  108. like lower case.  
  109.   
  110.   GRAMMAR (UC)  
  111. This font is similar to "Microgramma Bold Extended." A very wide font, it's  
  112. legible as small as about 14-point.  
  113.   
  114.   INSCRUTA (UC)  
  115. A very blocky, minimalist font. The only commercial font that's at all  
  116. similar might be one called "Baby Teeth."  
  117.   
  118.   JOELOUIS (UC & LC)  
  119. A non-serif font made with consistent-width stroking. Could be used for text  
  120. set as small as 14-point. Similar to a font called "Dempsey."  
  121.   
  122.   MARBOLD (UC)  
  123. A bold, geometric font. Works best as a display face at 24-point or better,  
  124. but could be used as small as 15-point. If the file you're reading now was  
  125. attached to a font called "Marbolo"--then Marbold is the same font. (The file 
  126.  
  127. size has been compacted back to "normal" by removing the sample characters  
  128. from other fonts used in the Windows Write promotional letter.)  
  129.   
  130.   MOTTEK (UC & LC)  
  131. A bold, stark font with similarities to the above Comaro, but more readible.  
  132. Also very similar to a commercial font called "Motter Tektura."  
  133.   
  134.   RHINOFON (UC)  
  135. A semi-serif bold font similar to a commercial font called "Elefont."  
  136.   
  137.   TALLDECO (UC)  
  138. A very art-deco-ish headline font, similar to a font that appeared recently  
  139. in "u&lc" magazine called "Anna." Very tall and condensed, the slender  
  140. characters include a nearly full set of alternate upper case (using the lower 
  141.  
  142. case keys).  
  143.   
  144. TELEPHONE DOWNLOADERS...  
  145. The BeesWax, Cairo, Comaro and Coliseum fonts were posted last year on  
  146. CompuServe and America OnLine.  If you've downloaded any of those, here's  
  147. your chance to get the ones you've missed with no on-line charges. In fact,  
  148. you can order these fonts cheaper than your on-line charges to download them  
  149. all "free." BeesWax, Cairo and Comaro have been updated to add the British  
  150. Pound character, some other characters, and some character revisions or  
  151. clean-ups.

  153. WHAT DO YOU GET?  
  154. All 15 fonts including x.WFN, x.PFB, x.PFM, x.AFM files for PostScripters.
